The claim is that it will save 2 million dollars in expenses to pay city workers overtime and such. I guess they're trying to spread the cost out to a few districts and reducing the manpower that needs to be in downtown at the time.

I don't know if this will be good or bad for the shows. I'm sure the three individual shows will be significantly smaller in shell sizes, which might be good if they bring the barges in a little bit. Either way, melrose is shooting it so expect about.... two or three cases of salutes between all three locations.

That's why I don't like their shows. No salutes. At least Mad Bombers shows shake the ground with the boomers. Melrose sucks.

I like when the firemen used to shoot the Tinley Park show better. All hand fired and some punishing salutes. Then someone got pretty fucked up in 88 or 89 when a shell went in the gun and set the finale off. Sad affair but afterwards Tinley mandated e-fired shows only and melrose came in. A 40 minute handfired show became 25 then 20 min now it's less than that.

I will miss the Chicago show and I used to love the Taste of Chicago on the 3rd. But all the gangbangers ruined that. I'm not one to keep my mouth shut when some starts shit so it's best to stay away from somewhere I could get shot.

Palos used to have a hand fired show as well, you really appreciated the breaks, the salutes hit like no one's business. When I was a kid, their shows seemed to last for at least an hour. I think they were hand fired by the local fire dept.

I went to the 7/3 show once, and after that, and the fact that it was a cluster f' of a bunch of sweaty people, I decided to stay home and tap into my stash. A few years ago when they had the shooting, some of my cousins from Poland came in, and went to watch the show. They saw the shooting and all the commotion around it, and then the herd of people trying to get away, it's sad, but many of their shows draw some shady characters around. Way to go Chicago!!!
